Revitalize Your Body: Cupping Therapy for Pain Relief and Healing

Service Description

WHAT IS CUPPING THERAPY Cupping is a traditional healing practice that involves placing plastic cups on the skin to create suction. This technique draws the skin and underlying tissue into the cup, enhancing blood and lymphatic circulation both locally and systemically. It can be likened to a "tissue distraction release" method. During a cupping session, cups can be left in place or glided over various areas of the body to lift and separate tissues. The pressure applied can range from light to heavy, depending on the client's preferences, the treatment area, and the specific issue being addressed. Cupping therapy works by enhancing the release between neural tissues, fascia, skin, ligaments, muscles, and tendons. This technique is believed to assist with a variety of health issues by promoting blood flow, reducing inflammation, and encouraging the body’s natural healing processes. Evidence suggests that cupping can be an effective treatment for several conditions, including: - Chronic neck pain - Low back pain - Fibromyalgia Additional benefits of cupping therapy include: - Loosening adhesions and scar tissue - Increasing blood supply to the affected area - Alleviating arthritis - Reducing stagnation and draining fluids - Relieving inflammation - Soothing musculoskeletal issues such as pain, spasms, cramps, tightness, numbness, and stiffness - Improving lymphatic flow and local circulation - Boosting the immune system The circular marks often left after a cupping session are a desired outcome and are not bruises. Bruising results from blunt force trauma that breaks capillaries, while massage cupping does not cause such damage. Unlike bruises, which can spread, the marks from cupping will remain perfectly circular. These marks typically fade within one to four days as toxins and blood pulled from deep within the muscles are flushed from the body. Generally, the same mark will not reappear in the same spot.
